Candle Safety/ The Do’s and Dont’s

Just a few tips on candles:

Candles have memory! If they are not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy creating a complete pool (edge to edge of the container), it creates a memory ring which will continue to tunnel for the life of the candle. So... the "first" burn should be at least 2 hours or long enough to create a complete melt pool. The subsequent burns are okay even for short spells

Always trim your wick to at least 1/8 inch before each burn. It helps control the amount of wax that is burning which means less soot is formed while it's lit! When you get to that awkward stage where trimming is difficult, use nail cutter to trim your wick

Think about the size of your candle as it directly impacts on the fragrance you smell from burning it... a small one for example may be suitable for your bathroom, a medium for a small sized bedroom and a large for your lounge or bigger bedroom.

Do not put your candle next to a wall, preferably should be at least 3 inches apart as it could create its own draft and ruin your wall
